Wanted to try again after an awful meal last time- my Husband wanted to give it another go but the fish was thick with greasy batter and the chips were absolutely awful & tasted very strange. Can safely say this will be the last time ordering from Lords, which is such a shame as before they changed hands, it was our go to chippie for years

I’ve never had any issue with lords before tonight and have been a customer for years. The haddock I ordered was bone dry, the batter was very overcooked and that meant the haddock was too. I have photos of the fish and it is way too dry and chewy. The chips were hot and tasted fine, however I added a note for salt and vinegar to be added and it wasn’t so bland chips. The curry sauce was very thick and salty, the mushy peas were tasteless. For £17, it was not worth it. Previous orders the haddock has been flaky, moist and edible. The curry sauce was perfect and the peas had at least some seasoning. Last ordered in June 2025. I won’t be ordering again sadly as I’ve also seen other negative comments about their recent orders. It’s a shame as the reputation was good tasty fish and chips however this meal was far from it. There’s no excuse on a Monday evening to serve overcooked Haddock!

Going downhill , small portions , ordered large cod and it was tiny . Something is different last two orders I’ve made. Batter is different too. I may give it one more go to see if it’s just chef of or someone away . If it’s bad then I’ll never go back , time to start trying different F&C places. Really disappointed as this has been my fav for a few years . Oh well

Considering I placed my order 3 minutes after the shop opened, the fish was dry, there was a lot of batter with no fish and the batter was burnt in places and chewy. Clearly overcooked in old oil. The fries were also overcooked (rock hard). On the upside the battered sausage and curry sauce was good.
